A committed voice for multinationals

In its mission of information, advocacy, and promotion, the GEM is a key contact for numerous stakeholders, all directly or indirectly concerned by the activities and future of the multinational sector in the Lake Geneva region.

At the heart of what we call “our ecosystem,” the GEM is thus a credible and legitimate voice for an entire sector and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders committed to maintaining the economic vitality of our region, such as:

This role of link assumed by the GEM contributes to a harmonized understanding of the issues and the positive and lasting impact of the multinational sector on the Lake Geneva region.

The GEM, at the heart of an ecosystem made up of numerous stakeholders, in particular :

Administrations

The GEM is a regular contact with federal and cantonal bodies, notably the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs and cantonal administrations responsible for employment or taxation (other contacts? mobility? security? health?).

The GEM closely monitors political discussions and proposals related to changes in framework conditions; as such, it maintains close relationships with both elected officials and informed observers of emerging trends in Bern and Brussels.

Professional institutions

The GEM is a member of economiesuisse, the Swiss Employers’ Association (UPS), and the Federation of Romand Businesses in Geneva (FER Genève). It is close to the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services (CCIG), the Vaud Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CVCI), the Employers’ Center, and the Foundation for the Attractiveness of the Canton of Geneva (FLAG).

International Geneva

The GEM collaborates with the Fondation pour Genève, particularly in the context of studies. It is a supporting member of the International Geneva Reception Center (CAGI). The GEM maintains ties with several international organizations, such as the International Organization of Employers (IOE).

Similarly, the GEM maintains regular contact with stakeholders in Greater Geneva.

Members

Through its services, its information and support mission, and its various working groups, the GEM stimulates interaction with its members and listens to their concerns. With more than 100 companies, totaling more than 40,000 direct jobs in our region, members are at the heart of the GEM’s activity.

Service providers

The GEM negotiates collective contracts for its members with service providers in many areas (insurance, work certificates, trusted persons, childcare, immigration services, etc.).

Academic world

Since 2017, the GEM has been an exclusive partner of the Faculty of Economics and Management (GSEM) of the University of Geneva (UNIGE), as part of a unique program in Switzerland designed to forge links between higher education and the needs of the professional world.

It also collaborates with research institutes (HEG, UNIGE, IREG, and EPFL).

Public opinion

The GEM’s activities, as well as its key figures and positions, are published in an annual report and regularly shared with the media. In addition, the GEM co-produces, alongside the Fondation pour Genève, the City of Geneva and Léman Bleu TV, the monthly program COSMOPOLIS, presenting the facets of international Geneva.
