Geneva votes to revise minimum wage rules for student holiday work

Newland Chase, provider for immigration services at preferential rates reserved exclusively for GEM member companies, inform that  voters in Geneva approved a revision of the Law on Labor Inspection and Relations (LIRT), introducing a specific minimum wage regime for student holiday jobs. Under the new provision, students enrolled in a recognised Swiss educational institution who carry out occasional work during school or university holidays for up to 60 days per calendar year may be paid 75% of the Geneva mandatory minimum wage.
