Our mission
The GEM aims to develop, promote, represent and defend the common interests of its members with the authorities and the public. In this perspective, it is an essential, relevant and unifying partner, committed to the common interests of multinationals in the Lake Geneva region and the economy in general. Its positions may be public. It works in particular to maintain attractive and sustainable framework conditions.
Our organization
The GEM is headed by a President and a Committee that manages the group under the supervision of the General Assembly, with logistical and technical support from the secretariat.
At the same time, under the mandate of the Committee, various committees (human resources, taxes, public affairs, sustainability) and various working groups are dedicated to specific themes.
The committee
Three commissions
Each commission is composed of representatives of member companies, professionally active in the sectors concerned.
- Human Resources Commission
- Tax Commission
- Public Affairs Commission
The Human Resources Committee oversees the GEM’s various collective agreements (health insurance, accident insurance, loss of earnings due to illness, occupational pension plans, and immigration services). It also deals with labor law and administrative procedures related to work permit applications and access to qualified labor. As part of its activities, the committee regularly collaborates with various cantonal administrative bodies on issues of importance to the human resources management of international companies (recruitment of job seekers, access to qualified labor, integration of expatriates, recording of working hours, etc.).
