Simple announcement of gainful activity for persons benefiting from protection status S from October 23, 2025
At its meeting on October 22, 2025, the Federal Council decided to transform the authorization requirement that previously applied to the exercise of gainful employment by Ukrainian nationals with S protection status into a simple reporting requirement.
Thus, starting October 23, 2025, employers will be able to report the start or end of gainful employment for an S permit holder via “EasyGov.swiss” or directly to the competent cantonal authority. Submitting the notification allows the gainful employment to begin immediately.
The GEM welcomes this decision, which reduces the administrative burden for companies and facilitates integration into the labor market.
