Our services

Commissions and working groups

The GEM committees and working groups are in close contact with cantonal administrative authorities (tax administrations, authorities responsible for labor inspection and the issuance of work permits, etc.) in order to exchange views and propose pragmatic solutions to national and international legislative developments.

Legal advice

The GEM provides its members with legal advice on labor law, social security, and work permits.

These legal advice and assistance services are provided by lawyers and legal experts specializing in labor law. A permanent office is available every weekday and provides advice on drafting employment contracts and company regulations. The GEM is also able to assist and represent its members before the labor court (Geneva).

Preferential insurance conditions

The GEM has developed framework contracts for its members in the following areas:

Health insurance (basic and supplementary) for all employees and family members
Accident insurance, supplementary accident insurance, and insurance for loss of earnings in the event of illness
Occupational pension plans and supplementary 1e plans

These framework contracts provide preferential conditions in terms of rates, benefits, underwriting, and service.

Immigration services

The GEM has entered into a Master Service Agreement with a well-known provider for immigration services at preferential rates reserved exclusively for GEM member companies. It offers full end-to-end immigration services for all Swiss immigration procedures, including L, B, C, Ci, G permits, renewals, short-term work authorisation, naturalisation, residency, and business visas.

In addition, Swiss immigration experts assist member companies to successfully navigate immigration scenarios such as:

  • Determining eligibility for Swiss work and residence authorisation
  • Advising on business traveller immigration requirements
  • Advising on migration and labour authorities’ procedures and practices
  • Discussing specific immigration programs (e.g. trainees, client site work, etc.)

It allows you to produce a complete and high-quality work certificate in just a few clicks. The tool is characterized by the high editorial quality of the generated work certificates (multilingual platform French, English, German), significant time savings for HR teams, an innovative co-construction process that can involve employees, and an intuitive interface with a minimalist and easy-to-use design.

Plenary sessions

GEM plenary sessions, organized in the form of thematic conferences, bring together member companies 10 times a year to discuss a given topic and guests specializing in the field. They represent a privileged opportunity to discuss common concerns.

Place for exchange and information

The GEM defends the interests of its members, takes a position on current political issues, and provides a forum for exchange and information. Its representatives regularly meet with federal and cantonal political authorities to discuss the maintenance of framework conditions and to convey the concerns and needs of multinational companies in the Lake Geneva region (corporate taxation, relations with the European Union, etc.).

Master in Business Analytics

Since 2017, the GEM has been an exclusive partner of the Faculty of Economics and Management (GSEM) of the University of Geneva (UNIGE), as part of a unique program in Switzerland designed to forge links between higher education and the needs of the professional world. The program consists of a first academic year and a second year that alternates between 80% corporate immersion and 20% university courses. It aims to support and prepare students for positions related to data analysis and management in the current context of digital transformation.

The internship lasts between 10 and 12 months and begins between March 1st and October 1st, depending on the successful completion of the mandatory first-year exams. To find a second-year internship, students participate in an annual speed recruitment meeting, during which they have 10 minutes to convince representatives of the participating companies, all members of the GEM.
